Deep Fried Sesame Seed Ball

Finally....I perfected my sesame ball recipe by combining so many recipes and after so many attempt. So feel free to try and pass it on.

dough
- 250 g  glutinous rice flour
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup boiling water ( put more water if necessary)
- 1 tbs baking powder
- 1/3 cup mash potato/sweet potato

Filling :
- Red bean paste ( bought from Asian Store)

1. Place the glutinous rice flour + rice flour, sugar and baking powder in a large bowl. Make a "well" in the middle of the bowl and add the boiling water. Stir until you have a dough, adding more if needed.

2. Pinch off a piece of dough roughly the size of a golf ball. Use your thumb to make a deep indentation in the dough and then the thumb and index fingers of both hands to form the dough into a cup. Roll 1 level teaspoon of sweet red bean paste into a ball. Place the red bean paste in the hole, and shape the dough over the top to seal. It is important to make sure the red bean paste is completely covered. Continue with the remainder of the dough.

3.  Roll the ball over the sesame seeds(dip a ball into the small bowl of water if the dough to dry, this will help the sesame seeds stick to the ball).. Repeat the process with the remainder of the balls.

4. deep fried the sesame ball in hot oil (325 f), turning frequently for even frying. It's okay to fry as many at a time as you want for them to be submerged in oil for even frying. When it golden brown, remove and drain with paper towel and enjoy. Yum....
